4th Steering Committee Meeting of the CISE-ALERT Project

With the first post for the new year, on behalf of the CISE-ALERT Consortium, accept our warmest wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024! 

We are glad to report that on the 11th of January 2024, the CISE-ALERT Project held its 4th Steering Committee (SC) Meeting. 

The event was chaired by the project coordinator – French General Secretariat for the sea (Secrétariat général de la Mer) - SGMer, represented by Eric de Beauregard, Counsellor for the State Action at Sea and Head of Law Enforcement and Coast Guard Function at SGMer, and the Project Managers Florence Wagner and Linda BAMA, from the premises of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon. The meeting was held in hybrid form (physical and online).

The members of the Committee together with European Commission representatives of the Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), the European Maritime Safety Agency and the Joint Research Centre (JRC), discussed the latest progress of the project and the ongoing and future activities, dedicated to the preparation and execution of the CISE-ALERT operational trials.

The partners reported on the achieved results, related to the definition of services (WP2), provided technical update on the services implementation and the progress of the scenarios (WP3), discussed the ongoing activities, dedicated to the trials preparation and the next steps towards the execution and assessment of the tests (WP4 and WP5). 

The SC also discussed the upcoming work related to the preparation of the main CISE-ALERT showcase event, which is planned for September 2024 in Rome and is set to demonstrate the benefits and perform a real time demonstration of the use of CISE before the CISE Community and relevant stakeholders.
